To celebrate my appointment as the Norwich City Crier, I have invited town criers from towns in Norfolk to celebrate with me. We shall be processing through the city of Norwich and making ‘cries’ at various locations throughout the day.
I shall be taking part in my first official ceremony as Norwich City Crier for the Freemen of the City Ceremony at Norwich City Hall.
Today we will be saying a fond farewell to David Bullock who has been the City Crier for over 30 years. There will be afternoon tea with the Lord Mayor and other invited guests at City Hall. David will be presented with a certificate from the City Council and also one from the Ancient and Honourable Guild of Town Criers. He will then present me with the Civic stave and I will make a cry from the steps of the City Hall to accept my appointment as the new City Crier.
